Getting Started

We are glad that you have decided to try Dexter to improve the quality of your source codes.

This guide will help you setup and use Dexter for your project.

 If you have any questions about this guide, please just add comments at the bottom of this page or on any guide pages.

• For a project person in charge of static analysis(10 mins. to 2 hours): read the '1. Dexter Server' section
• For a Java developer who uses Eclipse(20 mins): read only '3. Dexter Eclipse' section
• For a Java developer who doesn't use Eclipse(10 mins): read '2. Dexter CLI' sections
• For a C/C++ Developer who used Source Insight(15 mins): read only '4.Dexter Source Insight' section
• For a Administrator(2 to 4 hours): read all of the guides

1. Dexter Server 

• The Dexter Server is a WEB(RESTful) and Database Integration Server.
• You have to install a Dexter Server before using Dexter Clients such as Dexter WEB, CLI, and Eclipse and Source Insight.

2. Dexter CLI

• The Dexter CLI is a Dexter Executor for command line interface.
• You can analyze source codes for any units such as a file, files, a package, and a project(snapshot)

3. Dexter Eclipse

• The Dexter Eclipse is an Eclipse plug-in to write and analyze java source codes simultaneously
• Whenever a file is saved, the static analysis will be executed asynchronously at the back-end.

4. Dexter Source Insight  

• The Dexter Source Insight which is using the Source Insight Editor  is a tool for C/C++.
• Whenever a file is saved, the static analysis will be executed asynchronously at the back-end.
