2. How to use Dexter WEB

UI Description

1. It is a simple way to trigger the Dexter Log-in process on your website. 
   1. If you click where you're logged in, you can log out. 
2. If you get a Dexter Admin permission, you can show the 'Dexter Account' pop-up.  
   
1. You can export the accounts list to a excel file.
2. If you select multiple accounts, you can delete at once.
3. You can modify user information that already existed account.
4. You can also create user account.  Put User ID / Password and assign to Admin permission(Y or N), then clicked 'Add' button as below.
3. It deselects all of the selected rows.
4. It opens a new tab for the Dexter Chart page.
5. To mark false defects, you select defects on the defect list and click this button.
6. It is the opposite feature of  'Mark False Defect'(5) button.
7. You can check snapshot list.
8. It shows or hides the File Tree pane(11). If you select a specific package or a file, you can view the defects of the selected package or file.
9. It enables you to easily export defect datas to Microsoft Excel.
10. It is a defect list. You can see the id, severity, status, etc of defects. If you select a defect on the list, you can view detailed information of it in the pane(11).
11. It is a File Tree pane. After selecting the 'Show File Tree'(8) button, you can see this pane. (number of Defect/number of Defect + False Defect)
12. It is the source code tab.You can check all of defects where is occurred in file from same package. It shows yellow box(18) in Source code that is currently selected Defect id.  Shaded boxes(19) mean that the other defects exist in the source code.
    
    
    
13. It is the defect info tab.
14. It displays description of a defect.
    
15. It is a link that jump back to the top of the page.
16. If you want to mark defects in a source code file, you have to click this button. This is the same feature as 'Mark Defect'(6) button.
17. It is the same feature as 'Mark False Defect'(5) button.
18. It shows where defects are in a source code file. It shows yellow box that is currently selected in the above defects list.
19. It show defect which is not selected in defects list.

3. How to check the results

UI Description

1. You can group results by any label what you want. Click and hold a field name, and then drag the field between the field section and an area in the layout section. You can see an example grouped by  Authors and Severities on the left picture.
2. You can search by keyword. It is not case-sesitive.
3. It shows results by filtering or grouping.
4. If you check/uncheck the field name, you can show/hide columns in the results.

1. If you click the defect that you want to dismiss on the Defect list, the source code will be shown.
2. Click the 'Mark False Defect' button on the source code.
3. Click 'Top' and check the defect dismissed on the defect list.
4. It is the same feature to click the 'Mark False Defect' at top of the page.

5. How to summary the results with chart

UI Description

1. It is the Developers vs. Files Chart. It shows a list of files that have been analyzed statically by a developer using the Dexter Client. If a specific developer is selected, the rest of data are filtered by the selected developer.
2. It shows the number of defects as a pie chart. If a specific status is selected, the rest of data are filtered by the selected status - New Status: a defect is found but not fixed yet, Fixed Status: a defect is fixed, Exc Status: false defects by developer's decision.
3. It displays the summary of defects -the number of defects by severity, the line of code, the number of class, method and file.
4. It is the Checkers vs. Defect Count Chart. The checker is a checking rule to find a defect. If a specific checker or checkers is(are) selected, the rest of data are filtered by the selected checker or checkers except the Developer's Chart.
5. It is the Packages vs. Defect Count Chart. If a specific package is selected, the rest of data are filtered by the selected package or packages except the Developer's Chart and Checkers vs. Defect Count Chart.
6. It is a bubble chart to display the LOC by package, the number of class and the number of defects. According to the selected package, data of the rest chart are filtered and displayed except the Developer's Chart and the Checkers vs. Defect Count Chart.
7. It is a bubble chart to show the LOC by file, max complexity and the number of defects. According to the selected file, data in the file list table at the bottom are filtered and displayed.
8. It shows a list of files in a table. You can view detailed information of a file.
